I guess most people are familiar with the classic image of the mandelbrot fractal.
Now some genius has taken it to the next logical step and rendered it in 3D. What was once trippy can now really blow your mind!
Although the images are stunning, what really gets me off is how what is really a simple mathematical function can generate such astounding complexity. But the real kicker is that this can be found everywhere, in every living thing.
Astronomy has always fascinated me, no other pursuit has given me a real sense of my place in the existence like it has.
I can still recall sitting with a borrowed telescope in a freezing cold field in the middle of November and seeing the Andromeda galaxy for myself. I felt very small and at the same time very privileged to be able to grasp even this tiny fraction of the Universe.
One day I’ll get myself a nice telescope and again sit in freezing fields in the middle of the night. Maybe you should too?
So it’s about time that a new post is written. I was surfing around the web and found these interesting umbrellas; I’d say… My favorite must be the Water Gun Umbrella. All I need to do is to figure out where to get it… SQUIRT!
Today, I proudly present a new discovery from the World Wide Web. Even though it does not seem new to most of you, it’s a large enough to post on Geek Corner. Everyone knows what Guitar Hero is, right? Now there is a similar thing out there for all you “I-want-to-learn-how-to-play-pianoists”: Synthesia. The Dude and The Dudette both agree upon it’s awesomeness!

Indeed, to all faithful followers out there the below image might not seem much at a first glance. But look closely – can you see it? No? Take a look at the price. We know, it’s scandalous (but ironically, we just can’t stop giggling about it)! The Swedish moms-system can truly mess things up sometimes… or wait, maybe something supernatural is going on here? We shiver in our shoes, and hope The Pope won’t see this…
