Hyperrealistic

These are sculptures of the human form that are so detailed and realistic that they could pass off as the real thing. More real than real possibly…
There’s more…

I guess most people are familiar with the classic image of the mandelbrot fractal.
Now some genius has taken it to the next logical step and rendered it in 3D. What was once trippy can now really blow your mind!
Although the images are stunning, what really gets me off is how what is really a simple mathematical function can generate such astounding complexity. But the real kicker is that this can be found everywhere, in every living thing.

Well WTF? How the heck are you supposed to keep 18 key-short cuts in your head to begin with? Never mind the ergonomic and tactile horror of finding the right button when you do remember it… Egads!

That’s it…
No more Jolt Cola.
Ever.
Thanks to some investment firm driving them into the ground so that they could buy them out on the cheap.

Inquisitor is one of my favorite plugins for Safari. But under Snow Leopard, it’s broken. In fact all plugins depending on the InputManager folder are broken now.
But there’s a fix!
Open terminal, navigate to /library/inputmanagers/.
Execute the following: chown -R root:admin *
That solves that.
Go to your applications folder, select Safari.
Press Cmd+i to get info and activate “Open in 32 bit mode”.
Restart Safari.
And that should fix it.

A petition on the 10 Downing Street website calling for an official apology from the Prime Minster for the “prosecution of Alan Turing that led to his untimely death” has already attracted 2,200 signatures.
WWII crypto analyst and computer pioneer Alan Turing was persecuted into commiting suicide by the British government. It’s a real tragedy that a man of such brilliance and who did so much to change the tide of WWII in the favour of the UK was given such shameful treatment after the war – simply because he was gay.
Whereas I feel it is important that the British establishment owns up to it’s dark past, the damage is already done. Something like this should never have happened in a democracy in the first place.

P.S: A rather lame apology has been given by PM Gordon Brown
